
In this alt copy, we delve into what atheltes bring into their game day/competition bags. When working on this article, we tried to find unique items that had emotions or memories behind them. For example, one of our sources bring stuffed animals to each competition, as it is a tradition that her team has has since she joined in freshman year. We also tried to showcase essential items such as water and snacks, and the reason people have for bringing them to games, in order to give inspiration to athletes reading.

Each year, the City of Cupertino hosts a day for residents and visitors to take their dogs for a swim. Due to high demand and popularity, the city has added a second day for the event. In this news brief, we use photojournalism to showcase the activity and the playful feel of the dogs swimming and owners interacting with their pets.

By going to three local breakfast/brunch places, I was able to explore a new kind of article: a food review. This reporting goes in depth about ambiance, price and taste in order to provide viewers with a comprehensive experience of what each restaurant is like and whether or not it is worth the visit.

This article was the staff-editorial for El Estoque's 4th cycle and it dove into the topic of introducing artificial intelligence into the school curriculum. Specifically, we argue that it is important to embrace change and equip students with the tools needed to understand new technological advancements.

Based on personal experiences, this article is formatted as a letter to parents—specifically immigrant parents. In this letter, my co-author and I discuss the importance of discussing sex—a topic that is often seen as taboo in ethnic households—for a myriad of reasons such as providing children with all the information needed to make informed decisions and creating an environment where they can ask questions and confide in trusted adults. This article aims to open to conversation regarding stigmatized topics.

This podcast-formatted article dives into a topic that many have experienced — holiday shopping. Every year, we have extravagant holiday sales including the beloved "Black Friday," and "Cyber Monday." However, these huge sales have huge impacts on our environment, connections with friends and family and of course our wallets. In this article, we discuss how the focus on spending depreciates the true meaning of the holidays: gratitude.

Also known as "Watch your words," this article explores how modern language has changed to become more inclusive; specifically, how Monta Vista High School students and staff have observed and implemented this change. When reporting on this article, we went to teachers who have had conversations with students addressing dehumanizing language. After, we went to the students to the students asking how they responded to this shift in language.

This article features the candidates running for city council in the city of Cupertino. This article was very difficult to do, as scheduling times with 7 politicians took some time. However, in the end, my co-author and I were able to curate stories that not only represented what candidates were fighting for and hoping to implement if they won, but also their stories and why they decided to run in the first place.

Pitched for an immigration package, this article features several perspectives from students and staff's opinions on becoming a U.S. citizen. We take many experiences into account, such as individuals living on a Visa, new American citizens and individuals who had dual citizenship.
