We released this audio story during the holiday season to focus on the issue of overconsumption that heightens during this time. My co-author and I felt that audio was the right fit because it’s more personal, which is relatable to the holidays as it is a time of family and friends, so we felt it would complement this article well. Plus, people are often on the go this time of year, and a podcast is something they can listen to while doing other things. It also gave us a chance to use sound and tone to bring the story to life in a way that text just can’t.
